The Illawarra Dragon Boat Club grew out of Dragons Abreast Illawarra organisation. The club encourages breast cancer survivors and supporters to keep active, have fun and meet new people. A rise in membership numbers has allowed the Warrawong-based team to purchase a new boat, and increase the number of training days from once to three times a week in the summer. An independent report into the death of former Australian Cricket player Phillip Hughes has called for first class cricketers to use the highest British standard helmet, despite declaring a higher standard helmet or neck guard would not have prevented Hughes’ injuries. The report, undertaken by President of the Australian Bar Association and Former Chairman of the Victorian Bar, Council David Curtain QC, found all first class cricketers should be required to wear a helmet against fast or medium paced bowling during practice and matches. Netflix login and account details are being sold on the blackmarket, according to a new report. The Symantec report said users were being hacked by a phishing and malware campaign that posed as Netflix files on hacked desktops. “The files are downloaders that, once executed, open the Netflix home page as a decoy and secretly download Infostealer.Banload. Banload steals banking information from the affected computer. The Trojan has primarily been used in Brazil,” Symantec reported. A University of Wollongong graduate has turned to crowdfunding to publish a book about childhood fears. Karen Beilharz has raised almost half of the $9.900 needed to publish Monsters, a graphic novel designed to promote conversation between adults and children about fear. Beilharz collaborated with prominent illustrators from the Australian comic community, including former Walt Disney animator René Pfitzner, and Ditmar award-winner Kathleen Jennings, to create the 76-page anthology. “Often adults are mystified by the things that scare children,” Sydney-based mother-of-two Beilharz said. “I think it’s important for parents to be able to grasp and see things from a child’s point of view, because it…

A study has revealed 63 per cent of single women who retire in 2035 will not achieve a comfortable standard of living, and 38.7 per cent will retire in poverty. The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) said females will receive half of a males’ superannuation, and 60 per cent of women will miss out on superannuation altogether. Between 2006-2015, Australia ranked 15 on the gender gap index, but it fell to 36th position last year.
