The global spread of artificial intelligence (AI) has sent shockwaves through the higher education sector. University of Wollongong (UOW) academics and students have questioned how universities should best navigate the legal and ethical issues raised by AI. UOW students have been encouraged to put away their laptops and try their hand at surfboard painting, as one of the many free art workshops being held for UOW Live Art week. Matt King from Surf Paints regularly runs surfboard painting workshops in the Illawarra, using old repurposed boards donated by the local community.
