Corrimal’s The Arcadians Theatre Group is set to perform its production ‘Be More Chill’ on Friday, after a year of preparations and setbacks. The group first tarted preparations for the production in May last year but due to lockdowns had to restart for 2022. Australians are now less likely to take precautions to stop the transmission of Covid-19. The Australian Bureau of Statistics household impacts survey recorded a decrease in April when compared to February. The survey, released yesterday, found 78% of people wore a face mask in the week leading up to the survey compared to 98% in February. The decrease in precautions comes as face masks were declared no longer mandatory in some settings during April, as well as the removal of self-isolation for close contacts of Covid-19 cases. Public school teachers across the state will strike next Wednesday over pay and work conditions. The move followed a poll of over 10,000 of the union’s members that revealed teachers would continue to leave the profession if there was no change to employment arrangements.
