Uncommon areas of cardiovascular study have been boosted by $1.2 million funding awarded to University of Wollongong researchers. Two UOW cardiovascular research projects have received funding as part of the NSW Department of Health’s $150 million Cardiovascular Research Capacity Program. Distinguished Prof. David Adams studies the interaction between the heart and the nervous system. An Illawarra fitness training centre is ensuring it stays afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering members online fitness classes. F45 Training Wollongong has recorded a 95 per cent decrease in its monthly turnover after state and federal governments forced gyms to close to combat the spread of the virus.
