Illawarra bands and musicians have continued to use social media tools to perform live music while coronavirus restrictions are still in place.
Wollongong band Lemon Row has organised an Instagram live show on Friday to celebrate the second anniversary of its formation.
“It’s Lemon Row’s second birthday, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to get some friends around it and have a bit of fun,” band member Dallas Cowley said.
Fourteen local bands are scheduled to perform on their respective instagram pages.
Member of Wollongong band DRIBS, Brendan Neville said the event has given the band an opportunity to play again.
“We haven’t played in about two months, since coronavirus kind of kicked in,” he said.
“It’s an opportunity for us via donation, to make money and just to keep [up] general interest in what we’re doing.”
The concert kicks off on Instagram at 5.40pm, Friday, May 29.
