For years, Dapto High has been in possession of an Olympic trophy from the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. Current principal Andrew FitzSimons is on the hunt for any information that may lead to a better understanding of how the school came to be the current owner. The University of Wollongong’s Feminist Society (FemSoc) has announced the Take Care Festival to raise money for women’s shelters in the Illawarra. FemSoc aims to give students a chance to participate in feminist activism, raise awareness of feminism, as well as offering a safe, social space to discuss feminist issues – all of which are evident in this event. Wollongong resident Pam Howard runs a dual-culture exchange program, Australian Recreation and Educations Tours (ARET), between Australia and Japan. It teaches Australian children about Japanese culture, and Japanese high school and university students about Australian culture. Through a variety of tours and planned activities, Japanese students visit local farms and engage with Australian wildlife and a mix of farm animals. There are many myths as to how weight loss is achieved and what happens to fat when we lose it. In a recent study, Ruben Meerman and Professor Andrew J Brown surprised many with their findings on weight loss. In a paper published on BMJ, they revealed the lungs are the primary excretory organ for fat. Fat is made up of the compound C55H104O6 – that is; part carbon, part hydrogen and part oxygen.
