The humble Frisbee will be thrust into the spotlight at the Australian University Games in Perth next week.

The University of Wollongong will field six teams at the championships, including men’s and women’s Ultimate sides.

“We’re really excited to have pulled together two teams to go away to Perth. It will be a great week,” UOW Ultimate Women’s Vice-Captain Shontelle Ferguson said.

The squads trained for the titles since July and hope for a top 10 finish. UOW handball, football, athletics, basketball and Ultimate teams will compete against teams from universities across Australia. The annual national competition runs 25-30 September.
