    MyUniversity supports Wollongong

    adminBy adminApril 4, 2012Updated:February 6, 2014No Comments1 Min Read

The University of Wollongong scored high on the Government’s MyUniversity website, which was launched yesterday to help students compare the 39 public universities in Australia.

The university, which places #269 in the current QS World University ranking, was praised for key areas including graduate employment, student services and public transport access.

Some criticisms included the lack of legal assistance for students, inadequate IT support and a failure to prioritise first-year students for accommodation.

Peter Hughes, President of the Wollongong Undergraduate Student Association, said student legal assistance was a top-3 priority to be addressed with the new student services fee.

The website has been criticised for inaccurately measuring the University of Wollongong’s international student population by including those studying at its Dubai Campus, and failing to recognise the university’s student theatre and art gallery.

    More to come.
