Local boy Govers closes in on Olympics

    adminBy adminApril 18, 2012Updated:December 14, 2013No Comments1 Min Read
ONE STEP CLOSER: Albion Park hockey player Keiran Govers is one step closer to representing Australia at the London Olympics.

Local Albion Park boy Kieran Govers is getting ever closer to an Olympic dream, with his selection into the Kookaburras squad to play in a London invitational tournament next month.

He will play in the London Test match and be a part of the Kookaburra’s build up to the 2012 Olympic Games. He was previously involved in their dominant performance against China in Wollongong last month.

These tours give the players and selectors an opportunity to check their form in high quality matches ahead of the all important Olympic Games.

VIDEO: UOWTV recently caught up with Govers after a Kookaburra’s clash with the touring Chinese team.
