Schools are facing backlash for what is being called an ‘over-the-top’ case of political correctness. Some Primary Schools are now removing the word ‘Easter’ from the traditional Easter Hat Parade. Instead, the festivities are being given labels such as ‘Crazy Hat Days’ and ‘Happy Hat Parades’.

The change has been seen as an attempt to remove any religious or cultural association from holidays like Easter and Christmas.  Parents have called the name change “precious, excessive and confusing” for their children.
