Creative Arts graduates praise UOW faculty

Former University of Wollongong Creative Arts students have praised the calibre of their tertiary education, as the faculty celebrates its 30th birthday.

“I was never the bloke that received high distinctions for every assignment,” said Reece Carter, recognised as the first graduate from the Bachelor of Journalism to work in the field.

“I have a few mates that took on Media & Communications at other universities and I found one of the big differences was I was given the ‘free-reign’ to write about my passion when appropriate, and for me that passion was sport.”

Some of the FCA’s most celebrated professionals were recognised at a special after hours event held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney last night.

More later from The Current reporters Hannah Shields and Sarah Navin.
