The Illawarra Jazz Club has supported and promoted jazz music within the Wollongong area for 26 years – and 2012 seems to be a non-stop for the organisation.

From the 6th – 9th April, the Illawarra Jazz Club is set to celebrate its 26th year of jazz performance and enjoyment. With bands the like of the “Date Brother’s Trio” and “Ghali Groove”, the weekend of slick rhythms and curved melodies is looking to be an appreciated event.

The Jazz Club, being a not-for-profit organisation and run by volunteers, aims to promote and appreciate up-and-coming jazz talent in the Wollongong area. With a focus on the talent and not on the money, the club has various events over the year that helps to achieve these goals.

The “Easterfest” Jazz Festival is being conducted over the Easter long weekend and is split between two venues. “The Builder’s Club”, on 61 Church St is the venue for Friday, Saturday and Sunday events, with “The Palm Court Hotel” housing the jazz festival on Monday.

Weekend and session passes can be purchased from the Builder’s Club, with a weekend pass costing $90 and will allow access to all events throughout the event. The event at the Builder’s Club is an over-18 only event, with a child-friendly event to be held at the Palm Court.
