Raising awareness for dyslexia Jodie Clements ran a teaching program today at Wollongong West primary school. The school had a screening of ‘The Big Picture’ an informative documentary that aims to help people understand people with the condition, which can often be misunderstood. Summer is approaching, and as temperatures climb, communities around the country are preparing for the bushfire season. Sussex Inlet is a community prone to bushfires and its Rural Fire Service volunteers are already planning for another hot summer. From Sussex Inlet, Jordan Matthews reports.
Most university students need casual or part-time work to financially support themselves while they study. With classes through the week, many them work in hospitality jobs at night and on weekends and they rely on their penalty rates to make up for their limited shifts. But pressure by business on the Abbott Government to axe penalty rates has resurfaced since the election. The prime minister has promised a review by the Productivity Commission in to fair work laws, which could result in pay cuts affecting students nationwide. Sydney Pead reports.
