The Wollongong community can breathe a sigh of relief with the end of the fire season announced today. In early January, the Illawarra faced its worst bushfire risk in recent history, with the fire rating reaching catastrophic. Buddha’s birthday 2013 is being celebrated at the Nan Tien Temple in Wollongong from the 29th of March until the 5th of May. Australia is the second country in the world to host Buddha’s Birthday Education Project which features a multimedia art exhibition and a range of educational activities. The highly anticipated week kicks off with a Photographic Exhibition and features a Debate of the Ages and a Spiderman-themed book club.
