The Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket competition will survive despite the 2021 competition being postponed, according to one of the world’s leading cricket commentators. Former champion Australian player turned broadcaster Adam Gilchrist said the competition had been paused because of the COVID-19 crisis in India but said the cricket-loving country would make sure the competition returned. “The IPL will play a huge role in rebuilding, I guess, the emotion of that nation,” Gilchrist said. Warilla Gorillas first-grade captain Blair Grant was injured in his team’s second straight loss against the Kiama Knights on Sunday and early reports reveal it could end his season. Torrential rain caused coordinators of an Illawarra music festival to postpone the event last weekend. The Artsville Unhatched Festival was to have featured more than 30 artists at The Arthouse Cafe in Port Kembla.
