Pressure on the federal government over the COVID-19 vaccine rollout has grown after it was revealed authorities do not know how many aged care workers have received the vaccine. Aged Care Services Minister Richard Colbeck said over 31,000 aged care workers across the country had been fully vaccinated but the exact figure was unclear because aged care facilities were not been obliged to notify the government about the number of their workers who were vaccinated. Military conflict in Gaza has escalated to its highest level in seven years, after Palestinian militant group Hamas retaliated to Israeli airstrikes that wiped out a 13-storey residential building in Gaza. 32 Palestinians were killed in the attack, including 10 children, whilst 203 were wounded, per health officials. Hamas responded to the airstrikes by firing an estimated 130 rockets at Israel’s second-most populous city Tel Aviv, coastal city Ashkelon, and the nation’s main airport Ben Gurion. A University of Wollongong academic has marked a career highlight by having his work published in one of the world’s leading science journals. Dr Solomon Buckman’s research on how wildfires sculpt rock formations across Australia has been published in Nature Communications..
