Jerry Springer
Television host Jerry Springer is the latest in a string of high-profile people to blast US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“I don’t think there’s any way that Donald Trump gets elected as president of the United States,” he told CNN.
Mr Springer said he wouldn’t want the next US president to be someone who had been on The Jerry Springer show.
“The show is entertainment, the show is a circus, the show is stupid. I’ve said that for 25 years,” he said.
“The show is what it is, but my gosh . . . you’re talking about running the free world . . .”
Brandon Stanton
Humans of New York journalist Brandon Stanton has also slammed the presidential candidate via Facebook yesterday.
“. . . Along with millions of Americans, I’ve come to realize that opposing you is no longer a political decision. It is a moral one,” he wrote.
“I’ve watched you retweet racist images. I’ve watched you retweet lies.
“I’ve watched you joyfully encourage violence and promise to ‘pay legal fees’ of those who commit violence on your behalf.”
Mr Stanton said he has conducted extensive interviews with hundreds of the very people who Mr Trump condemns.
“I can confirm—the hateful one is you.”
Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp has also expressed his distain for Mr Trump.
“What he is, I believe, is a brat.”
Mr Depp recently starred as Donald Trump in a 50-minute film entitled The Art of the Deal: the Movie, a faux-biopic centred around Mr Trump’s best-selling business book.
Mr Depp commented on the “absurdity” of Mr Trump’s policy to build a wall between the US and Mexico to keep out illegal immigrants—and his plan to make Mexico pay for it.
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus said Donald Trump is a “fucking nightmare”. She told her 38 million Instagram followers, posting a picture of her tear-striken face, that she will move if Mr Trump becomes president.
Barack Obama
Current US President Barack Obama registered his opinion about the presidential candidate, stating it was “troubling”.
“The other countries around the world, they kind of count on the United States on being on the side of science and reason and common sense,” he said.
“They know that if the United States does not act on big problems in smart ways, nobody will.
“This is just not Mr Trump.”
President Obama said he has “a lot of faith” that Mr Trump will not become president.
Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato took to Twitter to inform her 34.9 million followers of her stance on Mr Trump.
“In no way am I anything close to being a Trump supporter. Just sad that it’s come to violence,” she wrote.
Ricky Martin
Singer Ricky Martin said Mr Trump’s racist, incoherent, absurd and ignorant comments make his “blood boil.”
“Enough is enough,” he wrote in an online letter.
“This is an issue that unites us and we need to battle it together, not just for us but for the evolution of humanity and those to come.”
George Clooney
Actor George Clooney called Mr Trump a “xenophobic fascist”, and that his policy to ban Muslims from the United States is a “massively stupid idea”.
J.K. Rowling
J.K. Rowling, author of the beloved Harry Potter series, told her 6.99 million Twitter followers that “Voldemort was nowhere near as bad” as Mr Trump.
