    Wollongong’s Bomb Scare

    Residents living at the top of Noble Road hill in Albion Park were evacuated from their homes yesterday, following the discovery of a bomb in the area.

    Lake Illawarra Local Area police officers uncovered a suspicious looking device in a two-storey home just before 3.30pm, and immediately began evacuating residents and setting up a perimeter around Noble Road.

    The Bomb Disposal Unit from Sydney were contacted and arrived at 5.30pm to deal with the potential threat.

    But thankfully, the Noble Road residents were permitted to return to their homes at 7pm, after the situation was successfully dealt with.

    A search of the premises was also conducted to ensure there were no further threats to the area.
