Illawarra identities to Dance for Cancer

    Jonathan WeissBy Jonathan WeissApril 23, 2015Updated:April 24, 2015No Comments1 Min Read

You’ve heard of Dancing with the Stars, well prepare yourself for the Illawarra’s own charity-inspired version.

The inaugural Wollongong Dance for Cancer takes place on the May 2, and 10 local business owners and Illawarra identities will strut their stuff to raise money for Cancer Council NSW. The first of its kind gala event in Wollongong is set to dazzle guests at the Bella Portofino.

The Cancer Council’s Jai Bernard said the event was a fantastic money-raising initiative. He said Cancer Council NSW relied on charity events to maintain its level of support for those living with cancer.

Mr Bernard has highlighted Cancer Council Regional Manager Toby Dawson as the man to watch on the night, courtesy of his ‘loose style’.

“He might just have what it takes,” he said.
