A campaign has been launched to see all University of Wollongong lectures recorded as the rule rather than the exception.

Fewer than 90 UOW rooms are equipped with lecture-capture technology, and lecturers must request classes to be recorded. UOW student representative Cameron McLeod said UOW should change its approach to digital learning.

He said UOW should follow the lead of other universities, including the University of Sydney, and force lecturers to ‘opt out’ rather than ‘opt in’ to use the university’s lecture-capture technology, Echo 360.

Mr McLeod said students use recorded lectures for a variety of reasons, including revision and catch-up. UOW was unable to be contacted for a comment.
