Walking around Building 29 and Building 25, you may notice a notice board with Post-It notes stuck to it.
This is part of a new initiative by some creative arts students to create more relationships as well as to improve their skills and projects.
It involves students writing down what they need on a Post-It with their details and placing it on the board, where other students will be in touch if they would like to help.
The Post-Its are then put onto the UOW Post-It Instagram page to increase exposure.
Aden Jones is one of the students behind the initiative, which has been in the works for more than a year.
“For myself, wanting to collaborate with people more. I thought there’s not really anywhere or any platform to do that,” Mr Jones said.
“It’s an easy and accessible way. The original idea was a website with the exact same design, but it’s an easy way for people to quickly write down what they’re doing.
“There are bigger things on the internet that are similar but there’s that’s really small and local that you can reach out to real people and work together.
“It’s an effort to try and increase collaboration between uni students at UOW, particularly in the different disciplines as well.”
Aden is studying for a Bachelor of Creative Arts, specialising in music, and said the Post-It came about through the ‘Creative Communities’ subject as part of the degree.
He also said he has been pleased with the response to it so far as it continues to gain traction.
“We didn’t really know what to expect but quite a few people have written their notes on there; looking for work or advertising their skills,” he said.
“It’s mainly creative students so far but that was our target market.
“A few people have even been photographers that have needed models for shoots, so we’re getting people through that as well, which is good.”

Mr Jones said that he hopes the idea continues to flourish and be utilised across the university and not just in the creative arts.
“We would like it to grow into something bigger and hopefully even when I’ve finished up at uni it keeps continuing because I think it is a really valuable thing to grow the arts community and the area as well,” Jones said.
“If you’re a musician but don’t have skills in recording, you might need someone to record your work for you.
“If you’re someone who’s making a film or something and wants a soundtrack for it, similarly thing. Put music to it.”
