A Federal Government research has shown that one-third of Australian university students fail to complete their degrees.

Students are struggling to balance university, work and co-curricular commitments, causing them to either fail subjects or defer.

The study, conducted between 2009 and 2017, shows that the majority of the one-third of students who fail, either study part-time or come from low socio-economic areas.

Full-time university students from high socio-economic areas are also struggling to balance their studies with work and co-curricular commitments.

This is an issue that impacts many students both financially and emotionally.
