    Top 7 Twitter Dropouts

    Lauren MarkhamBy Lauren MarkhamMay 7, 2014Updated:May 7, 2014No Comments3 Mins Read

    1. Alex Perry

After mediating bullying in an episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Melbourne,’ Alex Perry deleted his account last night. The national advocate for anti-bullying campaigns has received considerable backlash for his actions

    2. Ashton Kutcher

I think we’ve all heard about this one. The first twitter user to reach 1M followers made an awful blunder which caused him to delete his account. Kutcher’s twee about former a football coach read, “How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste.”

Turns out he was unaware the man was fired due to sex abuse revelations in the school’s athletic program. This tweet followed.

    3. James Franco

Franco took a liking to posting ‘#shirtlessselfies’ on twitter almost every week. This came to a quick holt when he was found to be courting a teenage girl into meeting him via the website.

    4. Miley Cyrus

The former Disney star was forced by former fiancé Liam Hemsworth emsHemswoto delete her account after they planned to be wed. Liam, who had never had an account, thought it was best for their relationship.

As predicted, Miley is now back in full force on the site, having split with her Australian heart throb.

    5. Courtney Love

Oh Courtney, what has she done this time? Tweeted that Dave Grohl hit on her daughter Frances Bean Cobain is the answer to that one.

“I hear from frannies roommate that @davegrohl hit on frances, and that she was curious,” Love tweeted.

“Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful twitter rant,” Grohl said in the New York Daily News. “These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.” This statement was corroborated by Cobain.

This was then supported by her daughter. “I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way,” she said in a statement. “Twitter should ban my mother.”

    6. Associated Press

Not exactly a celebrity, but a big impact nonetheless. The Associated Press’s twitter account was hacked, tweeting: “Breaking: Two Explosions in the White House, and Barack Obama is injured.” This was the result.

    7. The Jo Bros’

Rumours of the Jonas Brothers splitting up have been circulating social media for nearly three weeks. The fears of teenage girls were heightened when all three members deleted their twitters, and no one has heard a word since!
