Jayden McComiskie never wanted to be ‘Insta-famous’, but now he is and it’s paying off. He’s well on his way to making a living off something he loves, a dream creative artists and many others.

The UOW Creative Arts student has over 29,000 followers on Instagram (@TheWordVirus) and sells more than 10 poems a week on his Etsy account.

“I didn’t really like my writing, but I felt like I really wanted to ut it up so I wasn;t sitting in my room and wasn’t doing it for no reason. I just wanted to put it up,” McComiskie said.

While he hasn’t finished his degree, the poet has tasted early success and the admiration of his lecturers.

“Jayden is using innovative and inspiring ways to get his work out there,” Dr Shady Cosgrove said.
