Nareena Hills Tennis Court Coordinator has released details of the upcoming final series with a mix of teams competing in the final fixtures.
Coordinator Linda Bailey has announced the club won’t be the host of the finals this year, instead Fairy Meadows and Corrimal Courts will jointly take part in hosting the event.
“The semi-finals and finals are mainly been held this year at the Fairy Meadows tennis centre and the Corrimal courts because mainly they just have a few more courts available there,” Ms Bailey said.
Nareena Hills teams will have five of the seven teams participating in the semi-finals and grand finals.
“The teams have gone very well, we did have seven teams in the competition and we got all but two of the teams through to the semi-finals, so that’s a very good result, considering there are eight teams in a division, so most were making the top four and that’s a very good effort,” Mrs Bailey said.
Some of the specific teams that were entering the finals series for Nareena Hills were from at least four different divisions within the competition.
“We have the mixed division four teams in the finals, we also got the boys division 1 team, we have the beginner doubles team and we have the mixed six team in the finals also,” Mrs Bailey said.
Nareena Hills Tennis Club tennis coach, Thomas Brinton aims to physically and mentally prepare the players for the upcoming important games of the competition.
“As a tennis coach, my main focus during training is to prepare my players for various game scenarios. I focus on teaching them valuable skills like strategic thinking, adaptability, and mental toughness all on the court,” Mr Brinton said.
His advice for the players of Nareena Hills and all other players within the competition final series was to have dedication and a positive attitude when playing.
“It was a combination of mostly hard work, dedication, and a good and positive mindset that helped me achieve those goals to reach and win these important games,” Mr Brinton said.
