Splendour in the Grass, the three-day festival that attracts upwards of 27,000 dancing bodies, announced its much anticipated lineup for 2016.

Matt & Alex, the breakfast boys from triple J had the honour of making the announcement at 8am this morning. They played Flume’s popular song, ‘Never Be Like You‘, to kick it off.

The lineup features big Australian and intetnational acts, including Flume, The Cure, Boy & Bear, The Avalanches, The Strokes, James Blake, Violent Soho, and The Preatures.

North Byron Parklands is home to many iconic camping festivals throughout the year, including The Falls Music & Arts Festival and Bluesfest. However, Splendour in the Grass is said to be Australia’s biggest winter music festival.

It didn’t take long for Twitter to join the conversation:

As noted in the Twitter post above, this year doesn’t feature any international hip-hop artists. This could be problematic for some of the fans and comes as a massive contrast to the 2014 line-up that showcased Outkast, Danny Brown and Childish Gambino– three very big names in hip-hop.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, 21 April, at 9am and are available for the three days, single days and camping. Last year it took 45 minutes for three-day and single day tickets to sell out, making record time.
