Cancer survivor and WIN Television news presenter Geoff Phillips swapped his lapel mic for his running shoes when he was named ambassador of the 2017 Wollongong Relay for Life.

Mr Phillips joined hundreds of cancer survivors and their carers who walked laps around the Kerryn McCan athletics track at Beaton park during the 24-hour event.

The event helped to celebrate survivorship, create awareness and raise money for cancer research and support services.

    Kyla-Rose Booth reports.
