‘Landscape with Monsters’: An acrobatic exploration of the Illawarra

The story of the Illawarra is being told by Circa and Merrigong Theatre Company in a circus co-production called Landscape with Monsters. The show is the first project Circa has made for, about and in another city other than its hometown, Brisbane. Landscapes with Monsters explores the meeting between humans and the environment.

“Illawarra’s an interesting place because it has great beauty, a post industrial landscape and an industry that’s in the process of leaving and depopulating,” Director Yaron Lifschitz said.

This idea has been developed over the last 12 months, and the production includes multiple industrial props to create a memorable experience for the Illawarra community.

The show runs at Merrigong Theatre until Sunday. It is recommended for those aged 10 and over.
