The 2016 Australian Hockey Championships continued in the Illawarra today.
Four hundred of the best Under 15 hockey players from across the country have converged on Illawarra Hockey Centre in Unanderra.
Illawarra Hockey President Garry Bull said the tournament was a big win for the region.
“Our facilities here are first-class in a national standard, so it means a lot to us in terms of when [it] does come time for asking for potential funding for maintaining our facilities … to have these sorts of events behind us is a big plus,” he said.

The Illawarra Hockey Centre is hosting under 15 boys and girls championships over the next week.
