The Illawarra coastline has been hammered with treacherous surf conditions today.
Surfers, swimmers, rock fisherman and boaters have been warned to use extreme caution whilst in and near the water.
The Bureau of Meteorology estimates these conditions will continue until Thursday.
Despite the warnings issued, some beachgoers continue to enter the water.
