Fluro Friday – It’s OK not to be OK

    Briana KennedyBy Briana KennedySeptember 5, 2017Updated:September 5, 20171 Comment1 Min Read

Fluro Fridays start with one rule:  It is OK to say that you are not OK. Fluro Fridays is an initiative of the One Wave group to start a conversation about mental health. Started in Bondi four years ago, it has grown to other beachside towns along the east coast. The group dresses in fluro and heads to the beach for a chat and “salt water therapy.”

North Wollongong Beach has been home to Fluro Fridays for two years, and the group plans to make them more regular. “Helping someone else and seeing their joy is powerful,” One Wave Wollongong co-coordinator Lincoln Budge said.
