The fossil fuel economy is decimating our environment and threatening to make life unsustainable, according to environmental activists. They claim society cannot afford to consume and pollute without environmental consequences. In the wake of heated political debate about renewable energy targets and sources, two environment activists, the NSW Greens‘ Andrew Litchfield and former UOW student James Lidsey, said addressing carbon emissions is the most pressing environmental issue. They said individuals can help reduce their carbon footprint, and conserve the environment today, because “tomorrow is too late.”
