Amer Hlehel, writer and performer of ‘TAHA’, will be presenting his show exclusively for Shoalhaven Entertainment, The Illawarra Performing Arts Centre, and Riverside Theatres. As well as being performed in English, there will also be special showings of the play performed completely in Arabic, the native language of the writer and performer.

The play is a compelling lyrical story that explores the life of Palestinian writer, Taha Muhammad Ali. It delves into the beautiful Palestinian culture which, according to Emer Hlehel, is almost never portrayed in the media.

‘TAHA’ explores the story of how, against all odds, a humble, engaging man evolved into a renowned Palestinian writer. Amer Hlehel creates the life of Taha Muhammed Ali as a young man, determined to overcome the poverty of life in his village.

The play is adapted from Adina Hoffman’s biography ‘My Happiness bears no relation to Happiness’, and is directed by award-winning writer and director, Amir Nizar Zuabi.
