Shellharbour Relay for Life will celebrate eight years of fundraising for cancer research this weekend at Tom Willoughby Oval.

The organisation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Illawarra Cancer Council support services and prevention programs.

Cancer survivor Emily Irish has taken part in the relay for the last three years and this year she will continue her relay journey in memory of her late aunty.

“It is something that I am really passionate about, raising awareness and helping other people that live with cancer,” Ms Irish said.

Shellharbour Relay for Life will be accompanied by the ‘Little Miss Relay’ pageant and rides, food stalls, junior sport clinics and more.
