They may have disappeared with the Ice Age, but dinosaurs have reappeared in Wollongong.
The ‘Dinosaurs in the Garden’ program is run by the Wollongong Botanic Gardens to create a fun and interactive learning experience for children during the school holidays.
The program uses the dinosaurs theme to discuss endangered and extinct plants and animals, and to teach children about what they can do to protect native fauna.
“The interactive hands-on experience is the best way we have found that children learn,” Wollongong Botanic Garden Education Coordinator Michael Connor said.
“They are immersed in education rather than just reading it and they have fun as well.”
The program runs until Friday, and spots are still available for a fun and educational morning for families in the park.
