Diabetes is becoming a pandemic. Affecting over one million Australians, with about 280 people diagnosed with the condition every day.
A study by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) found over 93 per cent of Type 1 diabetics felt the media did not differentiate between Type 1 and Type 2 correctly.
This can be frustrating for many Type 1 diabetics who claim to be often confused for having Type 2 diabetes or being responsible for ‘contracting’ the illness.
