Australia’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic saw state Governments introduce strict social distancing measures.

These measures saw the closures of school, businesses, places of worship and more with individuals encouraged only to leave the home for essential purposes.

Degradation of Isolation encapsulates a student’s relief as restrictions begin to ease across the country.

Lyrics:
Oh wow, what a semester it’s been
All of our lives changed due to COVID-19.
Isolation, social distancing since the middle of March.
They said to not go outside and don’t go to parks.

Now we see the curve is flattening,
Not many rules around social distancing
and as of the other day, the 1st of June
We can now do things we weren’t able too
Travel around our state for a holiday,
you may spend time in libraries and galleries,
Just don’t touch everything
or stand to close to me.
Because I’ve been in…

Isolation, degradation
Of my mental states, as we’re stuck in one place
Restrictions are lifting, forget their past decisions.
Can’t wait to see all of your faces.

Stay safe at a physical distance, 1.5 metres apart
Pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants, can now have 50 customers
Now I won’t feel so alone, sitting alone here at my home
With 5 visitors allowed to visit my household.
And I’m coming out of…

Isolation, degradation
Of my mental states, as we’re stuck in one place
Restrictions are lifting, forget their past decisions.
Can’t wait to see all of your faces.

Am I isolating? or is just this innovating?
Am I in isolation? or is this a fabrication?
Motivating creations of introversion and relations
No longer stuck here,
in Isolation.
