    Crazy for coffee

    Melinda WiatkowskiBy Melinda WiatkowskiMay 21, 2015Updated:May 30, 2015No Comments1 Min Read

Statistics show 54 per cent of Australians over the age of 18 drink coffee daily. This is complementary to the fact Australians spend $800 million on a cup of java every year.

Montana Price, former barista at a Sutherland Shire based Gloria Jeans café, noted the number of young people engulfed in the coffee culture.

“Mums would come in with their kids, and they would be sipping on their mothers cappuccino. Groups of young girls ordering their morning coffee on their way to school- everyone loves the stuff,” Ms Price said.

Studies have shown several cups of coffee a day can help halt liver disease, and help sufferers of chronic Hepatitis C in slowing down disease progression, as well as reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
