As Australia enters its fourth week of tough COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, another new health crisis has emerged. Latest figures reveal Australians are consuming more alcohol. Bottle shops have recorded an increase in business, and health professions have warned people already on the edge of heavy drinking will struggle to cope.

Alcohol Anonymous meetings have moved online to provide the care and support people need. These online meetings were rolled out over the Easter weekend.

Retail Drinks Australia has introduced a number of restrictions to help reduce the amount of alcohol consumers can purchase.

For more information on these online meetings you can call the anonymous helpline on 1300 222 222, or go to your local Alcohol Anonymous office. The Wollongong office in Fairy Meadow is open every weekday from 9am until 2pm.
