The Bowral Memorial Hall, which serves as an important social and architectural landmark to the Southern Highlands community, is to undergo a $2.8 million upgrade.

The refurbishment will include a new roof and lifts, and upgraded kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Wingecarribee Shire Council Assets Coordinator of Council Parks and Buildings Rachel Forte said the hall would keep its heritage facade.

“From a design point of view it has been looked into, in terms of its original fabrication, and everybody is pretty satisfied,” Ms Forte said.

The refurbishment project is due to be completed in December 2022, but Wingecarribee Shire Council said it should be finished before then.
