Rain in the Illawarra is leaving football fields in bad condition and local football teams have called on local councils to improve the facilities. Mental health conditions, such as depression, are increasing among young adults and university students are particularly vulnerable, according to new research. International surveys reveal one in five university students report having anxiety and depression symptoms. Statistics from university counselling centres show more than 50 per cent of mental health disorders among university students aged between 18-and 22 years old are untreated. A Frontiers in PUblic Health study has revealed a significant relationship between physical exercise and improved mental health and well-being. By the time children start school, there are already substantial differences in numeracy skills among individuals and bridging that knowledge gap can be difficult, according to experts.
