Cosplayers and comic book lovers from across the country will travel to Wollongong on Saturday, 13 May, for the fifth annual ‘Comic Gong.’ Comic Gong is a comic arts convention that brings together people of all ages to enjoy inclusive activities, read the latest comic books, participate in workshops, and show-off their costumes. The McGrath Foundation and Greater Bank Australia have teamed up to bring the second instalment of the Greater Bank Fitness 5km run and Kerryn McCann 10km fun run, set down for Sunday, 2 April. The Kerryn McCann 10km run was introduced in 2016 as an addition to the Greater Bank 5-kilometre run, which has been run in Wollongong for the past 28 years. Kembla Joggers founded the 10km race last year to honour long distance legend Kerryn McCann, who succumbed to breast cancer in 2008. Lack of Paralympics Coverage a Cause For Concern The push for equal recognition and exposure between the Olympics and the Paralympics remains an uphill battle, according to Wheelchair Sports NSW (WSNSW).
