Emergency services have rescued a 17 year-old girl after she fell 15 metres from cliffs in Kiama Heights. The girl’s boyfriend was with her at the time and raised the alarm with residents, who then called police. Emergency services arrived on the scene at 8.55 am. Paramedics have said the girl suffered closed head injuries, and will be flown by helicopter to St George Hospital. UOWTV Multimedia Reporter Eva Davis-Boerman reports.
Yesterday UOWTV Multimedia journalist Alex Doust headed down to the Duck Pond lawn to check out the National Day of Action rally. Protestors raised awareness and their concerns against the Federal government’s proposed bill to deregulate University fees. Season 2, Episode 8: PopUp joined forces with the cast of Next to Normal to discuss the stigma on mental illnesses. Next to Normal is an Arcadians Theatre Group production on from June 13 – June 21. 5% of their profits for the show are going to Headspace Illawarra, a worthy cause that supports teenagers with mental health issues.
