Rough storms and heavy rain have wreaked havoc throughout the Illawarra, with 184mm of rain falling on Mount Kembla alone on Monday night.

The Illawarra Mercury reported a number of Wollongong suburbs experienced localised flooding, and raw sewage flooded backyards of homes on Kembla Street in the CBD.

ABC Local reported this morning that parts of Bulli High School have been severely damaged by flood water, and only Years 11 and 12 were in classes today.
