The University of Wollongong marks its 40th anniversary this year, and now has more reason to celebrate. UOW has moved up a further two spots in the world’s top 100 younger universities, is is now 31st in the annual Times Higher Education (THE) 100 Under 50. It also ranked in 17 subjects out of 30, with highest positions recorded by Geography and Material Engineering.
“These latest rankings mark another step in the University’s quest to reach the top 1 per cent of the world’s universities,” Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings said.
The rankings are based on research citation and employability feedback from employers of UOW graduates.
UOW has shown consistent growth in the rankings, and had climed 18 spots in the last three years.
