In a stirring display of solidarity, students gathered in front of UOW’s library to commemorate Nakba Day with impassioned rallies, underscoring their unwavering support for Palestinian rights.

The rally included moving speeches and a march from the library back to their encampment which they have occupied since the 8th of May. This event was part of an ongoing protest, calling for the university to cut its ties with Israeli weapons and to continue to bring attention to the cause.

The event served as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for justice and recognition amplifying marginalised voices, challenging entrenched narratives, and igniting crucial conversations on campus and beyond. The rally acts as a catalyst for change and its effect extends far beyond the day itself, fostering a sense of unity and empowerment among students and driving momentum for social justice cause.
