A Wagga Wagga man is keeping alive the tradition of blacksmithing by breathing new life into an old craft.

John Wood designs and creates sculptures and art combining old and new techniques in his backyard shed.

His obsession with medieval metalwork began after attending a one-week workshop in Victoria, the result of which saw him opening his own business focussing on architectural and sculptural metal work.

After years of struggle, the artist is finally seeing the rewards laid down by following his passion and dreams.
