Comic Gong is returning to Wollongong this Saturday after a two-year forced hiatus due to COVID-19.

The event will take place across five locations in the CBD, expanding into Crown St Mall for the first time as well as events across the Wollongong library, art gallery, arts precinct and town hall.

Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery says Comic Gong has something to offer everyone and he is pleased to welcome back the event.

“This year we’re going back to our roots by bringing back some true fan-favourite events, activities and performances,” Cr Bradbery said.

“The Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition is back at the Wollongong Art Gallery which is the best place to visit to see the best of the best costumes and cosplay.”

“Over in the Arts Precinct there will be a Superhero stunt show by Action Reaction, the Batmobile, music by the Con Artists, archery and sword-play demonstrations by Battlecry LARP.”

Comic Gong will host an after party at the bottom end of Crown St Mall to finish the day off with a bang.
