The Illawarra Muslim community is “saddened by the atrocities” in Gaza as the war rages between Israel and Palestine. Israel declared war on October 7 after the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, launched a surprise attack that targeted more than 20 locations outside the Gaza Strip. The referendum delivers on an election commitment by the federal government to implement the Uluru Statement from the Heart in full. The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) increased its cash rate by 25 basis points from 3.6 to 3.85 per cent yesterday. But, it’s not all bad news for Australians. The announcement comes after data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics last week revealed the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose another 1.4 per cent in the last quarter, from December to March. Hundreds of Canberrans marched from Civic to the Prime Minister’s office protesting the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people around Australia.
