A new partnership has been formed to gauge how COVID-19 has impacted people-movement. UOW’s SMART Infrastructure Facility has teamed up with Meshed to help governments and councils recognise the mobility changes during the coronavirus pandemic. The project will use pedestrian-counting data to better understand the impact of the virus on  economic mobility and social engagement. Macarthur restaurant owners are hoping the hospitality industry will be the next to re-open as COVID-19 restrictions are eased. The usually crowded Macarthur Square is largely empty and restaurant owners are anxious about a return to ‘normality’. The University of Wollongong has announced it will deliver classes remotely as a measure to slow down the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). The university said the online move was designed to protect the health and safety of students and members of staff.
